October 11, 2025-Luapula Province Registration Officer (PRO) Kambinga Nondo, has urged the 37 uniformed staff being deployed for the Mass Voter Registration (MVR) exercise to maintain high levels of professionalism and sobriety throughout the registration process.
Speaking today during the orientation of uniformed personnel in Mansa District, Mr. Nondo emphasized the crucial role the Zambia Police Service plays in providing security for both people and property during all Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) activities.
He noted that their diplomacy and expertise have contributed significantly to the success and peaceful execution of ECZ programs across the country.
“The Commission continues to depend on the diplomacy and expertise of uniformed staff, especially in managing crowds and calming tensions in areas where individuals may attempt to disrupt the registration process,” Mr. Nondo stated.
Earlier, Mansa District Registration Officer (DRO) Dr. Josephine Mwanza informed the officers that 37 Voter Registration Kits will be deployed across Mansa District. Dr Mwanza added that each Kit will be managed by an Assistant Registration Officer–Field (AROF) with Voter Education Facilitators (VEFs) already deployed and a uniformed staff.
The orientation, taking place at the Civic Centre and facilitated by Assistant Registration Officer Supervisors (AROS)Brian Lubumbe and Robert Zimba, is aimed at familiarizing the 37 uniformed staff with the specific timelines and responsibilities associated with the MVR exercise and other upcoming electoral activities.
