October 30,2025-Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) Commissioner, Major General (Rtd) Vincent Mukanda says the voter registration exercise in Mansa District is progressing well.
Speaking after touring several registration centres today, Commissioner Mukanda noted that interactions with registrants show that the public is well informed about the ongoing exercise.
Commissioner Mukanda commended Voter Education Facilitators (VEFs) in Mansa for effectively reaching out to communities, supported by radio programs and public announcements.
He further stated that registration equipment is functioning properly, with any technical issues promptly addressed by Technical Support Staff. Commissioner Mukanda has since urged all eligible citizens to take it upon themselves and register as voters.
Meanwhile, Commissioner Mukanda explained that the tour was a fact-finding mission to address stakeholder concerns and dispel misinformation about the voter registration process.
During the visit, Commissioner Mukanda, accompanied by Mansa District Registration Officer Dr. Josephine Mwanza, also paid a courtesy call on Luapula Province Police Commissioner Mwala Yuyi and appreciated the Zambia Police for facilitating the free issuance of police reports during the registration exercise.
Commissioner Mukanda and Manager Legal, Mukunsa Bwalya, have since proceeded to Luwingu and Kasama for similar engagements.
