January 6,2026-Mansa Municipal Council has successfully implemented key empowerment programs under the 2025 Constituency Development Fund (CDF), delivering targeted investments in skills development, secondary education and enterprise financing across the district.
Under the CDF Skills Bursaries, the Local Authority sponsored a total of 1,240 students to pursue various courses at TEVET institutions across the country, at a total cost of K22,874,559.00, as Bahati Constituency supported 579 students at K11,435,905.00 while Mansa Central Constituency supported 661 students at K11,438,694.00
This investment highlights the importance of equipping youths with practical and market-driven skills that enhance employability, promote entrepreneurship and reduce youth unemployment, while building a skilled workforce to support local and national development.
In the education sector, the Council further sponsored 241 pupils under the 2025 CDF Secondary School Boarding Bursaries at a total cost of K1,160,178.00.
Mansa Central Constituency supported 161 learners at K785,475.00, while Bahati Constituency supported 80 learners at K374,700.00
Access to secondary boarding education remains critical in supporting vulnerable and deserving pupils, improving learning outcomes and ensuring retention in school, particularly for learners from rural and hard-to-reach areas.
Additionally, the Local Authority empowered 39 beneficiaries under the CDF Loan Component at a total cost of K7,713,871.00.
Bahati Constituency supported 19 beneficiaries at K3,748,396.00 while Mansa Central Constituency supported 20 beneficiaries at K3,965,475.00 respectively.
The loan component continues to strengthen the local business community by enabling entrepreneurs to expand operations, create employment and stimulate sustainable economic growth in the district.
