January 7, 2026-The construction of a 1×3 classroom block at Moloshi Primary School in Bahati Constituency is steadily taking shape, offering renewed hope for improved learning conditions for both pupils and teachers.
The 24-week project, which commenced in August 2025, has so far reached 45 percent completion and is expected to be finished within the agreed contract period. Once completed, the new classrooms will help ease congestion in the existing classrooms and replace old, dilapidated structures that have long affected the learning environment.
Acting Deputy Headteacher, Mr. Frank Chongo, says the poor state of existing classrooms has often discouraged newly deployed teachers, some of whom request transfers shortly after reporting for duty due to the state of the current classrooms.
He notes that the new classroom block, once complete will provide a safe, comfortable and conducive learning environment, improving morale among teachers and enhancing the quality of education for pupils.
Mr. Chongo has since expressed gratitude to the Government for financing the project under the 2025 Constituency Development Fund (CDF), describing it as a timely intervention that will have a lasting positive impact on the school and the wider community.
