MANSA MUNICIPAL COUNCIL POLICE HOLDS APPRECIATION PARADE FOR TOWN CLERK

February 6, 2026-Mansa Municipal Council Police today held an appreciation parade in honour of the Town Clerk Dr. Josephine Mwanza.

‎During the ceremony, Dr. Mwanza inspected the guard of honour and later presented awards to three Council Police officers who distinguished themselves during training at the Chalimbana Local Government Training Institute.

‎Constable Priscilla Katebe received the award for Best in Physical Training, while constable Alick Mutambo was awarded Best in Drill with constable Annold Sikombe awarded in absentia as Best in Martial Arts.

‎Speaking at the event, Chief Security Officer, Copanax Chalwe, expressed gratitude to the Town Clerk and council management for the continued support rendered to the unit. Mr Chalwe noted that council management had gone ahead of the ministerial directive by providing adequate office space for the Council Police.

‎In her remarks, Dr. Mwanza commended the supervisors for the leadership they provide to officers. She further praised the award recipients for their outstanding performance during training, noting that they had made her office and the entire municipality proud through their high levels of integrity and discipline.

‎Dr Mwanza added that the training had equipped the officers with enhanced skills, which would significantly improve their service delivery.

‎The Town Clerk was later presented with a cake and a portrait. The event concluded with a group photograph and a cake-cutting ceremony held in the Town Clerk’s office.
