August 29th ,2026-The Mansa Municipal Council Public Relations Unit joined communication and Public Relations professionals from across the country at the 2026 Zambia Institute of Public Relations and Communication (ZIPRC) Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Training on Ethics and Professional Conduct, held from 27th to 28th August 2026 at Sandys Creation Resort in Lusaka. The training was centered on the PR Code of Ethics, with emphasis on ethical decision-making, accountability, professional standards, institutional communication, reputation management and stakeholder relations.
For Mansa Municipal Council, participation in this important professional development programme is more than just attending a training, it is an investment in strengthening the way the Local Authority communicates with its stakeholders and the community it serves.
Public Relations plays a critical role in ensuring that citizens receive accurate, timely, transparent and responsible information about Council programmes, policies, projects and services. The training therefore provides an opportunity for the Public Relations Unit to sharpen its knowledge and skills while reflecting on the ethical responsibilities that come with handling institutional information and communicating on behalf of the Local Authority.
The knowledge and experience gained will further enhance the Council’s capacity in strategic communication, media relations, public information dissemination, reputation management and stakeholder engagement. It will also contribute to strengthening public confidence in the Local Authority by ensuring that communication is guided by integrity, professionalism, accountability, accuracy and respect for the public interest.
The participation of the Public Relations Unit in the ZIPRC CPD training therefore reinforces the Council’s commitment to continuous learning, professional excellence and responsible public communication.
For Mansa Municipal Council, effective service delivery must be matched by effective communication and effective communication must always be anchored on ethics, professionalism and accountability.
